The 9 Days Uganda Cultural & Community Tours is an interesting safari package that will offer you an opportunity to explore the unique cultural and heritage sties that make Uganda unique tourism destination in Africa. The safari will take you through stunning Kampala cultural attractions such as Kasubi tombs, Nagalabi coronation site, Kabaka’s lake, local markets, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine and from Kampala; it connects you to Jinja-home of adventure in Uganda. Tour Highlights:

Day1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport &Transfer to Kampala

Detailed Tour Itinerary:

Day1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport &Transfer to Kampala

On arrival at Entebbe international Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our English speaking driver guide and then be transferred to your pre-booked Kampala hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight.  The distance from Entebbe to Kampala is about 42 kilometers about 45minutes drive but due to Entebbe-Kampala evening or early morning jam, it will take one and half hours’ drive.

Day 2: Explore Kampala cultural sites

Following your early Morning Breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up from your Kampala hotel to embark on Kampala cultural sites tour. The cultural city tour will take you through different sites such as Kasubi tombs -where the kings and royals of the Buganda kingdom are buried, Nagalabi – the Buganda kingdom coronation site, Bahai temple, the Kabaka’s lake and the Palace of the Buganda king and Uganda Museum. Have stopover for lunch in any of Kampala hotels and thereafter embark on visit to different art and craft centers, cultural markets like Owino, Namungo Martyrs Shrine in addition to many other fascinating sites, where you will learn about the true history of Uganda, its kingdoms and its rich varied culture. Later In the evening, head to the Ndere Cultural center where you will enjoy lots of entertainment including traditional cultural dances. Thereafter, retire back to your lodge for Diner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja Tour with enroute visit to Sezibwa falls, Mabira forest.

Early in the morning, you will head to Jinja after taking your early morning breakfast.The drive journey of 80 kms will take you through small townships of Mukono where you will branch off to visit Sezibwa falls to see a cultural site related to the Buganda Kingdom. Thereafter proceed with the drive through Mabira forest-the only forest reserve with over 100 species of large moths,218 butterfly fauna, 300 species of birds e.g. blue swallow, papyrus gonolek and the nahan francolins, the purple throated cuckoo .On arrival at Jinja, you will head to Sunset Hotel in Jinja where you will have short stopover for lunch. Thereafter lunch, continue to explore the White Nile which is 7 times the volume of the great Zambezi and yet the longest river in the whole of Africa. Visit the impressive Bujagali Lake and have an opportunity to see the dazzling white water of the River Nile squeezing its way through the rocks. In addition, you will see the true Jinja rafting source of the River Nile, the exact point where this river starts its long journey across the African continent. After the adventurous experience in Jinja, drive back to Kampala later in the day. Dine and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 4: Transfer to Fort Portal & Afternoon visit to Karambi tombs, King’s palace in Fort Portal, Local Markets.

After breakfast in your Kampala hotel, you will depart Kampala driving on the south western direction to Fort Portal 332km about 4-5 hours’ drive. The drive will take you through the impressive sceneries and along the way, you will visit the Nakayima tree found in Mubende, and there you will be narrated the fascinating tales about the history of this impressive tree. Afterwards continue to Fort Portal and on arrival to the town dubbed to be Uganda’s tourism town-FortPortal, you will embark on exploring interesting sites such as Karambi tombs, the Batooro King’s palace, and Fort portal local markets , go for a community walk to the neighboring villages. After exploring the sites, you will retire back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Early Morning Fort portal Crater Lake Hike, Visit to Amabere ga’Nnyinamwiru & Afternoon Bigodi Wetland walk

Right after your early morning breakfast, you will continue to do the Fort Portal Crater Lake Hike to gain impressive views of the Fort Portal explosion crater. You will also visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves with a magical Nyakasura River falling over them forming beautiful water fall. The caves have breast like features which the locals attach a great cultural connotation and are thought to date back to the Chwezi era. Thereafter, you will retire to your lodge for lunch and thereafter transfer to Bigodi wetland. The Bigodi wetland, lies in close distance to Kibale forest national park thus connecting there is less hectic. The Bigodi wetland walk exposes you to typical eco –tourism encounter in Uganda and along the trails you may enjoy the impressive flora and fauna existing along with the local community. The walk will take you through surrounding communities within Kibale forest park where you will have an opportunity to learn different community activities, visit community schools, health centers, home steads among other interesting activities. Retreat back from the activity to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Early Morning Chimpanzee trekking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, embark on the memorable Chimpanzee trekking encounter in the natural habitat of primate Capital of the world – the Kibale Forest National Park. The Park is proud of 13 primate species including the world endangered species of the Chimpanzees which have been fully habituated increasing the chance of encountering them. The chimp trekking encounter in the primates Capital will start at Kanyanchu tourism center at 8:00am local time in the morning and the experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority Park rangers will lead you throughout the whole rewarding processes of trekking the Chimps in their natural Habitat. The trek will expose you to stunning flora, other primate species including black and white colobus monkey and birds before meeting face to face with the chimps. Upon meeting the Chimps, you will be allocated one hour to spend with them and during this hour, the chimps will lure you in a state of amazement as they swing through the branches, make pant hooting calls, play with each other, and imitate your body language along with other features that will make your one full hour with them a memorable experience of its own. Retreat from the activity to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, embark on the transfer drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park 157km about 3 hours’ drive excluding stops en route. You will make a stop at Rwenzori Art foundation – the only bronze casting center in Africa in the shadows of Rwenzori Mountains. The process of sculpture making of which you will be free to participate in will be rewarding. The extension to visit the Ruboni community wax and craft center expose you the local traditions and the applicability of indigenous knowledge to contemporary development. Continue to the Queen Elizabeth National park driving through the crater where you may enjoy the views of the olive baboons and elephants not forgetting magical sceneries before connecting to your pre-booked lodge to check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Do an Early Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

After your early morning cup of coffee, like at 6:00am, embark on thrilling game drive in the rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you through Kasenyi tracks with the opportunities of meeting the nocturnal wildlife species when they are retreating back to their hiding grounds and also meet the early morning risers when they are starting their daily activities of looking for food. The ranges of wild game which may be seen during the game drive include the elusive leopard, defassa waterbuck, Uganda kob, Side stripped Jackal; Oribis elephants, lions, buffaloes, Antelopes among others. The tracks are well designed to increase your possibilities of encountering wild game in their natural habitat of Queen Elizabeth National Park. After 3 -4 hours game drives; retire back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. After having a thrilling lunch, embark on the rewarding boat cruise on the 45km long Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. The 2 hour boat cruise opens your possibilities of enjoying the calm channel waters filled with counts of Hippos no wonder the channel is called the Paradise of Hippos. The other sights of water birds and the Nile crocodiles may not be missed. Retire in the evening at 5pm to connect to the lodge for overnight. Day 8: Transfer to Mbarara town & Afternoon Visit to the Banyankole Cultural sites

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on transfer from Queen Elizabeth national park to Mbarara town. On arrival at the town, you will have your lunch at Lake View hotel and thereafter embark on afternoon visit to different Mbarara cultural sites like the Banyankole Kingdom shrines, Igongo cultural centre,visit some Banyankole homesteads to further learn about their fascinating culture, lifestyle and their general practices, and then visit orphanage homes plus women groups. Thereafter, retire back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala with enrounte stopover at Uganda Equator, Mpambire drum Makers & Departure.

Following your early morning breakfast, drive back to the Kampala capital City. Along the way, you will have stopover at the Uganda Equator at Kayabwe where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time and take some photographs, Buy some crafts as souvenirs and also stop at the Mpambire drum village for drumming session. Thereafter, proceed to Kampala and on arrival, you will have your lunch and afterwards be transferred to Entebbe international airport for your scheduled flight back home.
