Detailed Safari Itinerary:

Day 1: Transfer to Ngamba Island for chimp trekking

After your early morning breakfast in your place of stay, the driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Entebbe Pier where you will embark on 45 minutes speed boat cruise or traditional boat ride that set off at 9:00am to Ngamba Island. On arrival, you will be guided to the island’s Interpretation Centre where an experienced guide will give you an orientation talk. Thereafter you move to the viewing platform to enjoy the fabulous views of the Chimpanzees during their supplementary feeding times at 11:00am local time. Have face to face encounter with the splendid chimpanzees in their natural environment and also witness the primate species being fed and during this time of feeding, you can take photos as many as you can for future memories. After that phase of supplementary feeding at 11:00am, you are free to explore the wonderful Ngamba Island while enjoying the views of unique tree species, stunning wild fresh water from Lake Victoria and variety of rare forest bird species as well as the magnificent species of reptiles like Lizards, snakes. You may have your Lunch prepared by the Kimii Island Women’s group or take your packed lunch if you have. After lunch, you will have rest at the lake shores as you wait for the next feeding of the chimps at 3:00pm. When this time approaches, you will enjoy your second time close encounter with the Chimpanzees when they are being fed and also take the last interesting photos of the Chimps.  Thereafter enjoying a memorable time with the chimps and other unique stunning attractions and services in the Island, you will retire back on the boat cruise to proceed to Entebbe where you will be driven to your place of stay in Kampala.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park

On second day, the driver guide will pick you up from your Kampala place of stay, and then depart from Kampala by road heading to south-Western Uganda through Masaka-Mbarara High way to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Have a stopover for marvelous water experiment and photographic opportunity at the Uganda Equator Crossing Kayabwe and then proceed to Igongo Cultural Centre for thrilling Ugandan traditional Lunch. Thereafter, travel through the rolling winding hills and terraced landscapes of western region and head to the National Park. On arrival, the driver guide will drive you direct to your lodge to check-in, have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest& Cultural encounter with the Batwa.

Following your early morning hearty breakfast, you will report to the Park headquarters for registration and join other trekkers in early morning briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts  of Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After briefing, you will enter the jungle to trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take between 2-8hours depending on the movement of the apes. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Once up-close to the apes, you will be given one magical hour to View and interact with these stunning apes plus taking photographs. Retire back to the starting point after the one hour and proceed to your lodge for a late lunch and relaxation. After relaxation, you will be transferred to the nearby Batwa community for memorable, refreshing cultural encounter.  Here you will be guided by a local guide who will take you to the different communities to see how people have managed to survive through farming.  You will see how local brew is processed from fresh Bananas and forest remedies to get beer and Waragi and also enjoy the performances done by the local Batwa women groups. After that interesting cultural encounter, you will drive back to your respective lodge for dinner and overnight. Thereafter the activity, you will retreat back to your lodge for dinner, memory sharing and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on transfer drive from Bwindi to Kampala. The long drive of 527 kilometers will take you through the impressive Kigezi landscape with rural setting and local populations. You will have stopover for Lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre and there after advance with the drive to Kampala. On your way, you will by-pass Mpigi village, famous for the Royal Drums Makers and of course the Ugandan Equator, where you may have stopover to take pictures and shop for a souvenir. You will arrive to Kampala late in the evening like at 7-8pm and the driver guide will drive you back to your Kampala hotel or Entebbe international airport for your onward flight back home.
